Ok, today’s post is definitely gonna be about AT Design. The fashion brand you’ve been waiting to hear from. Our storyline and what we represent. But first, I want to talk about the China and US trade war going on recently on the media. Actually, I wasn’t interested in the news besides it has nothing to do with me you know. However, something got my attention with the whole luxury designer’s fashion items being produced in China. I was shocked anyways, but at the same time I learnt something huge from this mistake. Brand authenticity of those designers mentioned will shake small especially if it’s a luxury brand. Their value tag will be affected so will their market margins go down by inch if they’re lucky enough.

This got me thinking why considering to change my brand from made to order to ready wear brand. Actually, what I had in mind was to build a ready to wear brand with a walk in store for easy accessibility you know. But on a second thought, that will be extremely difficult cause I will need to get extra hands plus extra funds or partner with a tailor to pull off this project. Meanwhile, looking at what’s happening between China and US, I felt like I made right choice to avoid cases like this. I believe originality matters a lot no matter how little it can be.

I decided to stick to my made to order production so that I can do it myself for a start and probably get to add ready to wear by employing staff myself later, when order placement increases rather than partnering with someone that is likely to snitch on you in the future. I hope this explanation makes sense to you. We learn everyday and I just learnt from someone’s mistake so take note of that as a fashionista or an upcoming fashion designer.
